Dr. James Abellar, DPT, OCS
Physical Therapist · Rehab & Performance Specialist
Dr. James serves a wide range of active people - youth athletes, golfers, lifelong movers, and anyone navigating chronic pain. As a board-certified orthopaedic specialist, he brings an advanced level of diagnostic precision to every case, whether that's a stubborn low-back issue, post-surgical rehab, or a sport-specific injury.
His work centers on three goals: restore movement, improve control, and build resilience. Many of the clients he sees are caught in patterns that quietly limit them - fear-avoidant movement after an injury, overtraining, or training in only one plane of motion. James helps them move past those patterns and develop a deeper awareness of how their body actually moves, so progress holds up over time.
He treats a broad span of conditions: low back pain, ACL and hip labrum injuries, Achilles tendinopathy and ankle sprains, rotator cuff and shoulder issues, tennis and golfer's elbow, hamstring strains, shin splints, IT band syndrome, and post-surgical recovery. His methods combine manual therapy, myofascial decompression, strength and performance training, and detailed movement analysis to get athletes back to sport and back to running and lifting pain-free, with better posture and mechanics. The through-line is resilience. He isn't just interested in getting you better, but in building a body that stays better.
Off the clock, James is usually golfing or spending time with family and friends.
"I help people keep doing what they love."
