FSA & HSA at Progressive Motion
What qualifies, what you need, and how to pay

Can I use my FSA or HSA at Progressive Motion?
Physical therapy is always eligible. It's a licensed medical service, so it qualifies under IRS rules the same way a doctor's visit does.
Performance training and recovery sessions are eligible when they're tied to a medical purpose. The IRS requires a documented reason, not just a general wellness goal. That means post-injury rehab, a doctor-recommended program, or an ongoing condition all qualify. A session booked purely for conditioning or performance, with no medical link, does not.
Do I need anything extra to use my card?
For PT: no. Use your FSA/HSA card like any other card at checkout.
For training or recovery services tied to a medical need, you'll likely need a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN). This comes from a physician or from our clinical team, and it confirms the service is treating or preventing a specific condition. We can help you get this documented at check-in, so there's no need to arrange it in advance. If your plan requires it before your session, let us know when you book and we'll get it sorted first.
How do I pay?
-
Bring your FSA/HSA card to your session and pay at checkout, or
-
Pay out of pocket and submit your itemized receipt to your FSA/HSA administrator for reimbursement. Our receipts include the provider information most administrators require for reimbursement, including our Tax ID
Will my FSA/HSA administrator definitely approve it?
We can't guarantee approval. That's determined by your specific plan administrator, and plans vary. What we can guarantee is that we'll give you accurate documentation to support your claim.
Still have questions?
This page is general information, not tax advice. For anything specific to your plan, your administrator will always have the final word. If you want a hand figuring it out before your first session, our front desk can walk you through it.
