Dr. Ashley Izumi

Physical Therapist · Movement Strategist

Dr. Ashley is Progressive Motion's biomechanics detective... the practitioner clients see when they want someone to find the root cause rather than chase the symptom. She works with driven people and high performers who want resilient bodies, and she has a particular focus on helping women bridge the gap between rehab and performance.

Her gift is making rehab feel approachable instead of overwhelming. Where complex movement problems can leave people anxious and stuck, Ashley brings structure: a clear plan, an honest read on what's actually driving the issue, and a path forward. She wants clients to leave understanding how to train for sustainable strength and resilience, and how to reorganize the compensatory patterns that have been quietly holding them back.

She's trained in Movement Links and DNS, and she's qualified in vestibular and concussion rehabilitation, areas many clinics can't cover. In hands-on work she uses IASTM (instrument-assisted soft-tissue work, or "scraping"), myofascial decompression cupping, and manual therapy. She frequently helps clients with ACL and Achilles injuries, low back pain, balance and vestibular issues, and the return to sport, always working to correct the movement patterns underneath, not just calm the symptoms above.

Outside the clinic, Ashley is paddle boarding, gardening, catching up on reality TV, spending time with her dog Boogie, and, by her own cheerful admission, taking naps.

Credentials & Training
PT — Licensed Physical Therapist.
DPT — Doctor of Physical Therapy.
MFDc — Certified in Myofascial Decompression, a cupping-based technique used to release soft-tissue restriction and improve movement.
VRT — Trained in Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy, addressing balance, dizziness, and concussion-related issues.
​MLS — Certified Movement Links Specialist, trained in a systematic method for identifying and treating both the source and the contributing factors behind movement-related pain.
